Born in Bangor, North Wales and raised in Brighton, on the south coast of England, Ian Whyte was 7’1” tall by the time he was 17 years old. Given also that he was a superb athlete, it’s not surprising his first successful career was as a basketball player – with 80 appearances for his country.

In 2003, his world changed when he responded to a casting call for Alien vs Predator and won the part of the eponymous Predator. Another long and successful career then followed, with roles in such iconic films as AVP Requiem, Prometheus, Clash of the Titans, Star Wars and Harry Potter. On television he played numerous parts in Games of Thrones.
