    Grace Holloway in Doctor Who, 1996

Daphne Ashbrook was born into a family of actors and directors from San Diego, California and it was only natural that she should discover her love of acting while still a young child. Perhaps her most memorable roles are as Dr. Grace Holloway in the 1996 Doctor Who movie and the titular character in Melora an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She is the only woman to have a starring role in both franchises. She has also appeared in numerous Big Finish Doctor Who audio dramas.

Daphne’s extensive body of work also includes numerous guest star parts and recurring roles on The OC and JAG, she also starred in the series Hollywood Heights. In 2010, she released two CDs, Grace Notes and All Good Dreamers.

In 2012, Daphne published her memoir Dead Woman Laughing – An Actor’s “Take” From Both Sides Of The Camera.

She is currently in post-production on a short film she has written, produced and starred in, called Once More, With Feeling.
