Matthew Robinson is a British-Cambodian BAFTA-winning TV & Film producer, director, writer.

In 2003, after nearly 40 years at the coalface of British television in documentaries and drama including two Doctor Who stories – Resurrection of the Daleks and Attack of the Cybermen, he took a three-year contract for the BBC to make TV drama in Cambodia.

With the contract completed in 2006, he settled in Cambodia founding a TV & Film production company, Khmer Mekong Films (KMF).

KMF, staffed by Cambodians, supplies dramas, comedies and documentaries to local broadcasters and uploads videos for its online audience of 350,000 subscribers.

KMF also makes movies for the Cambodian cinema circuit.

Matthew Robinson was educated at the Friends’ School, Saffron Walden and King’s College, Cambridge, graduating in economics in 1966.

Bachelor, poet and atheist, he now lives in the heart of Phnom Penh and was granted Cambodian citizenship by the Prime Minister in May 2020.
