The pavilion at The Grand Pier, Weston-super-Mare, was destroyed by a devastating fire in 2008.

In March 2010, the new pavilion building was near completion and fitting it out for a July opening was underway.

A New Dawn tells the story of the hectic rush to completion and the search for 300 staff to run the new pier.

Would it open on time and, more importantly, would it be a success?

The producers were granted full access to the pier and this DVD features unique film and first hand tales from the architects, contractors, staff and the owners.

This is a marvellous and entertaining documentary about a once in a lifetime event.
